Album Info:The West Chester Railroad began service in 1997 and operates passenger excursions throughout the year between West Chester and Glen Mills along the former PRR's West Chester Branch. SEPTA ended passenger service to West Chester in 1986, with its current terminus located in Elwyn. Service will be extended further west to Wawa when the new station is opened there in 2021.

Description:  Built in the 1940s by Plymouth Locomotive Works, this 20-ton switcher operated in the Glen Mills quarry. It was repainted by the West Chester Railroad and put on display at the Market Street Station.

Locksley Station

Description:  The station was established by the Pennsylvania Railroad in 1890, and the name "Locksley" is derived from a volume of poems by Alferd, Lord Tennyson. As with the rest of the former West Chester Branch, this station/shelter was closed by SEPTA in 1986.

Description:  Currently owned by the Thornbury Historical Society, the Glen Mills Station was originally built in 1882 by the Pennsylvania Railroad. Closed in 1986, it now serves as a picnic grove, washrooms and a layover spot for the West Chester Railroad.

Sections of the line were abandoned in the 1960s by the Pennsylvania Railroad, but the damaged caused by Hurricane Agnes in 1972 rendered this portion out of service.
